Antigravity IDE deprecated: Gemini 4 Argon moves to VS Code extension

Google's Antigravity team confirmed it is dropping the standalone VS Code fork, so even paid users lose Argon there; users must switch to vanilla VS Code with the official extension or the Antigravity 2.0 app and agy CLI.

A lot of devs are confused why Gemini 4 Argon is blocked inside the standalone "Antigravity IDE" even on paid plans. Google's Antigravity team basically confirmed the shift in direction: Instead of maintaining a separate, lagging VS Code fork ("Antigravity IDE"), Google wants you on a 2-part setup: 1. Latest vanilla VS Code (or JetBrains / Zed / Xcode) + the official Antigravity extension for manual coding with Argon 2. Antigravity 2.0 desktop app (or agy CLI) for autonomous multi-agent background tasks If you're still opening the old standalone Antigravity IDE, you're on a legacy surface that's losing the Agent Manager and doesn't support Argon.
