an open model that comes within 4 points of opus 5.5 on real coding tasks now runs on a home pc. on artificial analysis's frontiercode test, graded on whether a maintainer would merge the change, codex with deepseek v4.1 flash scored 52.6% vs 56.0% for claude code with opus 5.5. a quantized build now runs on 64gb of ram with strata. per @ItsmeAjayKV, a 12gb gpu is enough, with the engram file on an ssd.
