Jev drives drones, robot arms and K8s log triage as System-1 reflex layer
Several open-source projects use Jev as a System-1 reflex decision layer to control drones, robot arms and classify Kubernetes logs, while a larger model handles planning.
Engineers started using JEV for crazy sh*t with robots. drones, robot arms, a real WidowX, a swarm sim, even Kubernetes logs and basically said: "your call." here's what happened: > jev-drone camera-only Skydio X2 quadrotor in MuJoCo. code runs 500 Hz control. Jev at ~2.5 Hz reads the scene and picks the maneuver. clears a full 5-station course in ~47s / 77.5m. without Jev it stalls at 17.7m. > https://github.com/RomanSlack/jev-drone > embodied-jev browser MuJoCo Franka Panda workbench. Jev gets structured state, picks a subgoal, then a short XYZ step + gripper. pick-into-tray, stack, obstacle carry. live demo on the repo. > https://github.com/FBddcz/embodied-jev > robojev Jev drives a real Trossen WidowX. pick up a paper cup, move it, set it down. 4 cycles. 234 seconds. unattended. > https://github.com/alee792/robojev > jev-reflex-autonomy-lab 1–15 drones. Jev is System-1 reflex on every drone. HOLD / TURN / ACCELERATE / SCAN / RETREAT. big LLM only when confidence drops. > https://github.com/khordoo/jev-reflex-autonomy-lab > jevernetes K8s logs hit Jev before a human does. Important / Routine / Needs Review. read-only. Rust collector. > https://github.com/sunil-sadasivan/jevernetes and here's the pattern: none of these need Jev to write anything. they need it to look and pick: HOLD_COURSE / GAP_LEFT / CLIMB / BRAKE ±X / ±Y / ±Z / OPEN / CLOSE MOVE_ABOVE / DESCEND / LIFT / PLACE HOLD / TURN / SCAN / RETREAT IMPORTANT / ROUTINE / NEEDS_REVIEW that's the whole thing. the big model plans. Jev picks. motors and code do the job.
