truly don't understand why everyone isn't using this yet Claude can build an entire app but you’re still reminding it what you decided last Tuesday. save this: Claude Opus 5 + Obsidian + Jev. Your notes live in a folder you own. Claude turns them into useful project pages. Jev helps pick which memories belong in the next answer. Meeting notes. Saved articles. Client briefs. Decisions you absolutely swear you’ll remember. the setup: > install obsidian-second-brain inside Claude Code > point it at your Obsidian vault > use Claude Opus 5 to connect notes, update project pages and write from your material > add jev-recall as a retrieval step before Claude answers That last part needs wiring. These are separate repos, not a ready-made bundle. But the split makes sense. Ask “what should I send this client?” Jev filters the candidate memories for relevance. Claude gets the selected context and drafts the answer. The old budget constraint. The rejected proposal. The promise from your last meeting. Things a useful assistant should check before confidently writing the wrong email. start here, inside Claude Code: /plugin marketplace add eugeniughelbur/obsidian-second-brain /plugin install obsidian-second-brain@obsidian-second-brain Set OBSIDIAN_VAULT_PATH in Claude Code’s settings, restart, then run: /obsidian-second-brain:obsidian-init Then give Claude this: “Inspect samdotmak/jev-recall and propose a local integration with my vault. Retrieve candidate notes, filter them with Jev, then pass the selected notes to you with source paths. Keep originals intact. Show uncertain matches. Test retrieval on 10 questions about my projects before enabling it.” Jev Recall needs a TypeSafe API key. Scheduled jobs need a machine that stays on. Start with 1 project and 20 useful notes. Get it answering “what did we decide, and why?” before feeding it your entire life. obsidian-second-brain jev-recall bookmark this. your next chat shouldn’t need your whole backstory.
