Shopify brings Shop Pay checkout into AI assistants

Shopify's Fall '26 Edition lets Meta Muse, Claude Duet, Grok Bot and Instinct check out with Shop Pay, including non-Shopify brands without sharing card details.

🚨 Shopify made Shop Pay a checkout for AI agents today. With its Fall '26 Edition, you can buy with Shop Pay inside Meta's Muse, Claude Duet, Grok Bot and Instinct. Shopify says Claude Duet, Grok Bot and Instinct can even check out from brands that aren't on Shopify, without sharing your card with the agent. There's also shop.md, a skill that lets ChatGPT, Claude or any agent search 1B+ products and pay. The checkout war is moving into the chat window.
