Sources say GPT-6 family extends beyond Astra with multiple variants
A source says OpenAI is developing multiple GPT-6 variants, though naming and positioning remain unclear, and Astra is not the end of the line.
I’ve been told by sources I consider very reliable that OpenAI is actively working on multiple variants within the GPT-6 family. I still haven’t been able to determine whether we’re talking about GPT-6 Sol, Terra, Luna, completely new names, or different branches optimized for things like efficiency, speed, creative writing and other use cases. So I want to be careful here: the naming and exact positioning are still unclear to me. But the important part is that GPT-6.x does not appear to stop at Astra. And honestly, that fits very well with everything we’ve been discussing about Plus, regular Chat, and the strange absence of a lighter GPT-6 variant there. As soon as I can verify more, I’ll publish it.
