GPT-6 Astra tests async questions so users can answer mid-task
A test in the official Codex repo shows Astra no longer stops to wait after asking a question, but keeps working and takes the user's answer during the active turn.
Another interesting change landed for GPT-6 Astra today. OpenAI is explicitly testing asynchronous user input while the model is still working. So instead of: ask a question → stop → wait for the user → continue Astra can now: → ask a question → keep working while you think about the answer → receive your response during the active turn → adapt the work from there The test in the official Codex repo is literally named: “astra_asks_an_async_question_and_receives_the_answer_while_working” This may sound like a small detail, but it changes the interaction model quite a lot. The agent no longer has to freeze every time it needs clarification.
