Plus user says GPT-6 Astra is basically unusable on the plan
The author argues Plus improved mainly because GPT-6.1 Sol comes with looser limits, that GPT-6 Astra is nearly unusable on Plus, and hopes the new model options come to Chat.
I think the way OpenAI found to make the Plus plan actually good is by giving it GPT-6.1 Sol with much better limits, and then improving its speed even further by adding more compute online. In that sense, I think my previous criticism applies much more to GPT-6 Astra, which is basically unusable on Plus. But with 6.1 Sol being more specifically suited for that plan, it feels like a much better fit. Now I’m really hoping the next improvement is bringing the new model options to Chat, because that’s what most people are waiting for.
