ChatGPT can read across multiple Chrome tabs in regular Chat mode
ChatGPT's regular Chat mode can now pull information from multiple open Chrome tabs without switching to Work, letting users cross-reference pages without copying and pasting.
A lot of people seem confused about what's actually new here, so let me explain. - ChatGPT can now access information across your open Chrome tabs directly in regular Chat mode, without needing to switch to Work. - Basically, you can have 10 different tabs open while researching something and ask ChatGPT to cross-reference the information without manually copying and pasting content from each page. - Previously, the Chrome extension already supported referencing tabs, selecting content, and chatting about webpages through its sidebar. Codex could also interact with Chrome. What's new today is a more seamless way to bring multiple open tabs into the context of a regular ChatGPT conversation. Chat is for gathering and understanding information across your tabs. Work goes further, allowing ChatGPT to actually interact with those tabs and complete tasks for you.
