Codex desktop app: edit earlier messages and continue from that point
Codex's desktop app now lets users edit an earlier message in a thread and resume from there, dubbed time travel; whether file changes roll back is unconfirmed.
Day 14: Codex just shipped message editing in the desktop app. You can now go back to an earlier message in a thread, change it, and continue from that point. Tibo calls it "time travel." A bad agent run usually starts with one bad line in your prompt. Now you fix it at the source instead of stacking "ignore that" messages on top of a messy context. One thing nobody has confirmed yet: whether it also rolls back the file changes. In the CLI, rewinding only resets the conversation. So commit or stash before you edit, just in case.
