Codex bug roundup: capacity errors, faster quota drain, desktop crashes
A user-compiled list of recent Codex issues: capacity errors killing runs, quotas draining 2–4x faster, Terra using more than expected, and desktop app freezes and macOS computer-use failures.
Codex bug report from the last 48h, based on what people are sending me. 1. "Model is at capacity" / turn_rate_limit_exceeded. The most reported one by far. Tasks die mid-run, some people lost hours of progress. 2. Usage limits draining 2-4x faster with the same workflow. Some meters jump on their own, and several people say Sol got hungrier after Terra launched. 3. Terra using as much or more than Sol, even though it was announced with 2x more usage. 4. Desktop app instability: freezing when typing in another chat, getting stuck on "compacting context" with broken pipe errors, and computer use failing on macOS. 5. Smaller ones: the latest VS Code extension is broken (rolling back to 26.1007 fixes it), GitHub Code Review blocked by a limit that doesn't show on the dashboard, and Terra not showing up for some 1M context setups. Terra is a great model. A usage reset and a quick look at the meter would go a long way.
