Vangrid adds agent role with HTTP bounties and USDC payouts
Vangrid now lets software post bounties with one HTTP call and pay in USDC on Base or Arc via x402, plus a pay-per-request spatial data API.
I used to think the agent side of @vangrid_io was mostly talk until I went through the new pages. There is a third role now: agents. Software can post a bounty with one HTTP call and pay in USDC on Base or Arc through x402. It gets an agent_token for that bounty, while Vangrid puts the job on the board from its operator wallet. But the real-world step still needs a person. Someone has to go to the location and record it, and Vangrid says that can take hours or days. Miss the deadline or cancel, and the USDC goes back to the paying wallet. There is also an API for data already anchored on Base. Pay per request, no account or API key. Spatial queries are $0.01, one observation is $0.005, and provenance checks are free. If you keep saying “agents need real-world data,” you should read the docs first. The interesting bottleneck is still the phone. Android is live, but uploading requires an invite code.
