OpenRouter adds Jev Router as a model-routing decision layer

OpenRouter just placed Jev between an agent and every model it can call. Instead of blindly sending every request to the same expensive model, the new Jev Router scores the conversation for difficulty, precision and potential benefit from additional reasoning. It also accounts for something routers usually ignore: switching models can destroy the cached conversation and force the next model to read everything again. On four agent benchmarks: Jev Router solved 237 of 423 tasks. @OpenRouter Auto Router solved 130. That is 82% more completed tasks in OpenRouter’s reported evaluation. The bigger shift is not “Jev versus GPT.” Jev can become the layer that decides when GPT, Claude, Gemini or a smaller model deserves to be called at all. Cheap task: keep the lighter model. Hard turn: increase reasoning effort. Meaningful upgrade: switch models. Uncertain decision: expose the confidence. This is the first JEV integration that feels less like a launch demo and more like infrastructure agents could actually depend on. The article below explains the full decision layer and 12 ways to build around it.
