Claude Duet vs Grok Bot and Dots: four things that matter
The author argues Duet's Opus 5.5 backbone reduces retries on long tasks, and that switching a personal agent after months of memory and integrations is far harder than switching chat models.
Claude just entered the personal agent space with Claude Duet. Grok Bot finally has real competition. Dots is tragic. 4 things matter to me here: 1. the model underneath matters more than people think. if i’m giving an agent access to my email, calendar, files and browser, i want the smartest model i can get. 2. that gives Claude a real advantage. Duet is powered by Opus 5.5, which means i should need fewer retries and less supervision for longer tasks. 3. memory and integrations still matter, but they only become useful if i can trust the decisions the agent makes with them. 4. switching models in normal chat is easy. switching a personal agent after months of memory, workflows and integrations is much harder. the moat is a frontier model sitting inside an ecosystem i don’t want to leave.
