Reproducing a paper on whether Jev speeds up agent decisions
ReproForge follows an arXiv study and swaps in Jev at bounded decision points in agent workflows to test whether faster local decisions actually improve end-to-end agent performance.
Today’s ReproForge. arXiv:2610.13092 “When Faster Decisions Do Not Make Better Agents: An Empirical Study of Jev in Agent Workflows” System 1-style models are becoming increasingly interesting for agent systems. The appeal is obvious: replace expensive generative reasoning at bounded decision points with something much faster and cheaper. But the question I wanted to test was different: Does a faster local decision actually make the agent better end-to-end? I finished the lightweight live-
