i burned through my entire GPT-6 Astra weekly quota in 3 days so i'm replacing my $200/mo Codex subscription with this... a free 210,000-star GitHub repo from DeepSeek where even the agent loop is a plugin you can swap out [here's the exact setup i used:] 1. run it install Node.js, then: npx @deepseek-ai/dsh web that's it. web UI on http://127.0.0.1:3080, opens in your browser. 2. or from source git clone https://github.com/deepseek-ai/deepseek-harness.git cd deepseek-harness pnpm install pnpm run build pnpm dsh web 3. swap whatever you don't like models, tools, sandboxes, session storage, the UI, and the agent loop itself are all plugins. config lives in YAML or JSON, not in the core source. point a model adapter at a local endpoint instead of a remote API and nothing else changes. 4. add plugins dsh plugin --profile <name> add <pkg> there's no built-in marketplace. discovery goes through npm and the `dsh-plugin` GitHub topic. community directories already index 500+.
