Coinbase opened ai agent trading to every user two days ago. It lets chatgpt, claude, grok, and muse trade crypto, stocks, and derivatives from one conversation. Same quarter, coinbase posted $1.22 billion in revenue, down 18%, consumer fees down 20%, and zero ai agent revenue reported yet. The gap is the actual market structure story. The infrastructure shipped ahead of any evidence it changes the business. Coinbase is betting the feature itself shifts user behavior enough to reverse a revenue decline, not reacting to a decline that's already happening because of agent adoption.
