Meta's new Muse agent gives every user a dedicated virtual machine in Meta's cloud. A full computer, with its own browser, that keeps working after you close the app. That one architecture decision explains the entire AI capex story better than any earnings call. A chatbot is cheap. You ask a question, the model runs for a few seconds, then the GPU moves on to someone else. Millions of people can share the same hardware because almost nobody is mid-query at any given moment. An agent flips that math. Muse takes a goal like "sell my car" and works on it in the background for hours. It opens browsers, fills forms, negotiates, waits for replies, checks back in. The compute keeps burning after the conversation ends. So the unit of cost stops being the question and becomes the hour. Meta is handing out cloud PCs, free tier included, and betting that $20 and $100 subscriptions cover enough of them. Zuckerberg has spent a year telling investors that personal agents justify the data center spend. This is what he meant. Answering questions takes a data center. Giving a few hundred million people a second computer that never sleeps takes a power grid.
