Running five AI coding agents in five windows is a mess. This open-source tool puts them in one. People who build with AI coding agents often run five or ten at once, each in its own terminal window, and then lose track of which one is doing what. It's called Herdr. Every agent gets a label that says working, blocked, or idle. When one stops because it needs an answer from you, Herdr tells you, so you don't have to click through ten windows to find the stuck one. You can close the window or lose your connection and the agents keep working. Herdr keeps them running in the background, and you pick up where you left off when you come back. It also pulls agents from several computers into the same window. Your laptop and a remote server appear in one list. The best part is that the agents can use Herdr themselves. One agent can open a new pane, hand a task to another agent, and wait until that agent gets stuck before stepping in. It works with the tools people already use, like Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and OpenCode. It doesn't replace them. It manages the terminal windows they run in and nothing else. The repo went up in late March and already has more than 39,000 stars. If you run more than two agents at a time, try it.
