here's how next few model drops are lining up. GPT-6 Sol → tomorrow Opus 5.5 → potentially tomorrow too GPT-6 Luna: devday here's my reasoning for it: openai is already testing something big for tuesday, so sol feels like the obvious candidate. and another openai employee posted "intelligence too cheap to meter," which sounds a lot more like luna than sol to me. luna being the cheap, fast gpt-6 model would make it a perfect devday launch. meanwhile anthropic has been stealth testing opus 5.5, so i wouldn't be surprised if they drop it around sol to immediately answer openai.
