a solo dev just built the fastest ai browser out there and gave it away for free it's called voice-browser: a free (MIT) app that turns your own chrome into a browser you control by talking to it. the whole thing runs on jev, the model that came out of stealth last week and doesn't write text at all, it only decides same chrome, same tabs, same logins, same bookmarks. you say "search youtube for lofi beats", "click the first result", "no, not that one" and it does it. your mouth already knows the commands, there's nothing to learn this is why it's this fast: every word you speak goes to jev as a dozen questions at once. what do you want, which element on the page, are you finished talking, are you even talking to me, is this dangerous. jev answers all of them with probabilities in about 300 ms, and the code acts. a chat model would still be writing the first sentence why is it exploding? - it acts before you finish the sentence, about 300 ms after your last word - costs a fifth of a cent per command, because jev bills nothing for answers - it ignores you when you're talking to someone else in the room - anything that buys, sends or deletes waits for you to say "confirm" - everything runs on your own machine, in your own logged-in profile (nothing in the cloud) ridiculously easy install: clone, npm install, paste one jev key, run one command. 34 out of 34 on its own test suite and 27 forks in four days, someone already turned it into a chrome extension 100% free for personal and commercial use link below
