i couldn't sleep after reading this Sam Altman just explained how he uses his own AI agent, and it feels illegal: he leaves it one long voice note as he's drifting off. by morning the thing is built, and it already "did the next seven steps" his agent is called Dotty. it sorts the morning fires and only pings him when something is urgent. in his words, it gave him "space for creativity or to just hang out with my kids" that's literally what openai dots does now. the launch post hit 13.7 million views three days ago. each dot gets its own computer in the cloud, plugs into 4,000+ apps, and you message it inside chatgpt, slack or teams. your laptop stays shut getting the same morning out of your own dot takes five moves, and the first one matters most: → give it one job and keep the chain short. in openai's own safety tests, handing a dot 10 tasks in a row instead of 5 more than doubled the slip-ups → write the brief as four answers: what must get done, which sources it reads, what deserves your attention, what it must not do yet → skip scheduling the follow-ups. it can "decide when to pause and wake up to continue work", so give it the goal and let it pick its own hours → ask for a handful of versions.
