people keep confusing Jev with tabular foundation models. they're not the same thing. the difference comes down to one thing: Jev does zero-shot classification. TFMs make predictions grounded in learned data. here's the breakdown. Jev: unstructured in → structured out Jev takes text or other inputs and turns them into decisions. → is this lead worth pursuing? → should this email get a reply? → which agent should handle this task? → does this document need further review? it's built for lightweight, low-cost classification and decision routing, without needing task-specific training data. Tabular foundation models: structured data in → grounded predictions out Models like TabPFN learn patterns from tabular data to classify outcomes or predict numerical values. they use learned patterns in data to make predictions grounded in the examples they see. this isn't zero-shot classification in the same sense as Jev. but here's where it gets interesting. imagine combining both to build predictive agents. Jev handles the fast decisions: classify incoming information, route tasks, and decide what needs attention. a tabular foundation model handles the predictions: estimate risks, forecast outcomes, and score opportunities using structured data. one decides what to do next. the other predicts what might happen. that's a much more interesting architecture than asking one massive LLM to do everything. the future of AI agents might not be about finding one model that does it all. it might be about getting different models to work together. https://x.com/tuanacelik/status/2111134843413086550/video/1
