@withscuba came out of stealth in New York with $34 million raised across two rounds. @Accel led the pre-seed, Accel and @IVP co-led the seed, and @BoxGroup, @conviction, @homebrew, and @ScribbleVC joined the round. The founders are @noah_weiss and @dolapo, and this is the fourth time they have built together. They started in 2011 and worked together at Google, Foursquare, and Slack. Weiss was Slack's chief product officer. Falola led engineering at The Browser Company and held engineering leadership roles at Slack and Meta. Weiss has said the company is personal for him. Before his mother passed, she made him promise his next job would feel like a weekend hobby, and he says building Scuba feels like a Saturday. The team runs its own company on the product, with under two hours of meetings a week. The product is a shared context engine. People save articles, screenshots, docs, videos, threads, and voice notes from a browser or an app, and Scuba organises the material on its own, tracking what the team knows and how its decisions change over time. It connects to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and Slack through MCP, so an agent answering a question starts from the team's own material instead of the public average. Hundreds of early users spent six months in the private beta, using it to build products, run launches, and work on strategy. The beta is now opening in waves. Most AI infra seed checks right now land between $3 million and $11 million. A $34 million total across two rounds is well outside that band, and it went to a context layer, the part of the stack that decides what an agent actually knows about the team using it. Andrew Braccia at Accel put Scuba in a sequence with Slack changing team communication and Cursor changing how code gets written, this time for team alignment. Shravan Narayen at IVP made the agent point: without a team's shared judgment, agents cannot reach their full potential, and these are founders who spent their careers getting the right information to the right people.
