The man who wrote Clean Code put his Grok bots' coding rules on GitHub. 152 lines, 3,000+ stars in 3 days. Uncle Bob (Robert C. Martin) is moving his work from CLI agents to Grok. His bots use this file when they write software for him. It goes after the moment every AI coder knows. The agent says "fixed", the tests are green, and the bug is still there. 5 rules from the file, word for word: - "A guard that only hides the crash is not a fix." - "If the test would still pass when every function returned nothing, throw it out." - "Write the failing test before you change the code." - "Ship the smallest edit that solves the problem." - "Keep a log of every action you take and the reason you took it." After that, 3 free tools of his check the work: 1. Crapper flags complex functions with weak coverage. 2. Dryer finds duplicate code even after a rename. 3. Mutator breaks your code on purpose to see if anything in the suite notices. Give the same rules to your own Grok Bot with one message: "Read SKILL.md in unclebob/ub-mode on GitHub and save it as a skill called ub-mode. Use it every time you write or change code for me." In Claude Code, send this instead: "Download SKILL.md from unclebob/ub-mode on GitHub into ~/.claude/skills/ub-mode/SKILL.md, then use /ub-mode for every code change in this project." Paste it tonight, then ask your bot to recheck one bug it already called done. Uncle Bob spent a whole book teaching humans to write clean code. For his bots, he wrote 152 lines.
