Forgive me for my bullishness, but I need to get something off my chest: The consumer agent wars are over. $META Muse has won. Muse is the best consumer agent product today, it’s quickly becoming a noun, and it’s what I imagine personal superintelligence is supposed to be. It’s early, but I believe the odds of a competitor offering a superior consumer agent are low. Grok Bot is interesting but still very raw and experimental. Dots from OpenAI and the preview of Duet from Anthropic are intriguing, but they clearly seem to be complements to their main apps for productivity/enterprise work rather than pure consumer use cases. So that leaves Muse as the best pure-play consumer agent in the market today. Meta is arguably the best digital consumer product company in the world, and they have all the key ingredients to continue to win: a great product, a proven team, in-house superintelligence, >$100bn of annual OCF to fuel growth, global infrastructure to serve it, and, maybe most importantly, unmatched distribution. They have 3.5bn daily users across their platforms who aren’t just using the apps, but are interacting deeply with one another through them. Which leads to the next point. The consumer agent market should exhibit major network effects the same way most consumer internet ecosystems do. And critically, Mark’s comments about aggressively building out the ‘Muse Network’ as quickly as possible show you how much he understands its strategic importance. The goal is for your Muse to interact with your friends’ Muses, eventually with business Muses, and so on. The Muse Network will likely become a major competitive advantage for the company. Now, as great as the vision is, it all still comes down to execution. And that’s good news, because who would you rather bet on to build an interconnected, multi-billion user/agent network than the company that has already done it multiple times? The early signs are strong: 25% of the 10mn signups so far are using Muse daily, and it’s already retaining at 2x the initial rate of Threads, which has since grown to >500mn active users. All in, Meta has a clear winner on its hands. And the best part is you’re getting it basically for free in the stock, which discounts very little beyond the core existing business, and arguably less than that. $META
