It emerged from stealth Tuesday with a $300 million valuation on its first raise, backed by SV Angel and Valar Ventures. That is roughly fifteen times the going rate for an AI first round, which tells you how badly investors want the messaging layer. The team is a second act story. Brennan Erbz and Stafford Schlitt previously built Flik, the AI creative platform that drew a 50,000 person waitlist. Erbz is ex-Snap and YC W20. Their third co-founder, Ammar Amdani, co-founded Adapt Ventures and made the Forbes 30 Under 30 list before switching from backing startups to building one. Meanwhile Figure's Hark went live the same day, pitching privacy first and an agent that uses your computer for you. Meta shipped Muse, OpenAI shipped Dots. Four personal assistants in a month.
