This is a major blow to $MDB as CJ was the key person driving its enterprise sales pivot and revamp of GTM strategy, which was just starting to bear fruit. Even though MDB’s value proposition won’t be impacted (actually may have strengthened with personal agents ramping up like Muse, ironically), we should expect some major near-term sales disruption. Leaving the company the day before Analyst Day is quite a bad look tbh. On the other hand, this is likely a major signal that META is going after the enterprise market. As we noted in our previous META Preview, META still lacks the capabilities to deliver enterprise services with SLA-level commitments, and this marks its first serious step toward building out an enterprise solution.
