Astra 操控机械臂闭环画金门大桥
20 岁机器人爱好者给 GPT-6 Astra 一条 SO-101 机械臂和画笔,让它自己规划动作、看画面修正,逐轮把金门大桥画得更好。
An AI taught itself to paint the Golden Gate Bridge with an actual robot arm Thijs, a 20-year-old roboticist, gave GPT-6 Astra a borrowed SO-101 robot arm, a paintbrush, and a camera pointed at a real canvas, then asked it to paint the Golden Gate Bridge. Nobody scripted the arm's movements. Astra had to work out the physical control itself. It planned about a minute of actions at a time, watched the canvas through the camera after each attempt, and adjusted before the next one. Thijs occasionally nudged it along by asking "what can you do better?" and letting it update its own plan from there. The first attempt is genuinely rough. It's the progression across attempts that's the actual point: this isn't one-shot image generation, it's closed-loop physical control that visibly improves each time the model sees its own result and corrects for it. The timelapse hit almost 3 million views in a day. It's not a masterpiece yet, but look at the gap between attempt one and the final one. Give it ten more rounds and a Mona Lisa doesn't sound that far off.
