Kling 4.0

THE HERO LOSES HIS WAY - Kling 4.0 Review Kling 4.0 finally released. I waited a while to do this review, until I’d not only tested it myself but seen what other creators could do with it. I’m going to start by saying I now know why Kling kept stalling the release. The model is bad. It hurts to say that. The pricing is so good I was ready to let a lot of things go. But in many cases this model is just unusable. Seedance 2.5 should not have a monopoly on generative ai. Kling was the one company that could have stood against it. And you know what they gave us? Plastic skin and an omni reference that isn’t on par with Kling 3.0. Yes, I said it. Kling 3.0 omni was a complete breakthrough in ai film. The only thing wrong with it was that it couldn’t hold action and dynamic movement. Kling 4.0 is competent at dynamic movement. In fact the movement is so smooth and natural that there are moments where it’s actually better than Seedance 2.5. But it’s ugly. I’m not exaggerating when I say Kling 4.0 produces hideous footage in most cases. The few videos I’ve shared on here are the absolute best of this model. SPARE was obviously the model under ideal circumstances. There are elite ai filmmakers who couldn’t get a single decent generation out of it. That’s unacceptable for the wait we had to endure. What was Kling doing for 8 months? Going to film festivals trying to rub shoulders with the cool kids? What happened to you guys. You were beautiful. I said on here that Kling was the first model I ever used. I wanted Kling to win this. Even through all my criticism I was confident I’d get to retract every worry I had. Most of them came true. Plastic skin. Terrible lip sync and audio. Subpar sfx. Bad lighting. What they got right is movement. That’s it. And I can’t even credit the 30 seconds, because Seedance 2.5 and Wan 3.0 already do that. Here’s what really grinds my gears about releasing Flash first. We all waited on standard because we were sure it would be better. I swear it’s basically the same thing. That’s why they were so weird about specifying which footage was Flash and which was standard. There really is no difference beyond 1080p and 30 second generations. And 1080p seems to have no influence on the quality of the generation. If you use this, just generate at 720 and upscale. Anyone who follows this page knows I never say that. Don’t waste your time going full 1080 on this thing. Last time I quoted Aunt May on this page. About how people line up for a hero and stand in the rain for hours just to get a glimpse. Now let me quote the Goblin. “The one thing they love more than a hero is to see a hero fail.” But guess what, Kling? We didn’t want to see you fail. We wanted to see you win more than anything. Look at this timeline during the whole release. So many people tested this thing that for the first time in a long while, Seedance had to share a timeline. Even if you came in a level or two below Seedance 2.5, we all would have crowned you anyway, just because you’re the hometown hero. But you walked into this fight out of shape and seemingly drunk. Instead of keeping us updated you went silent for a week, then ran a few film showcases including LA Tech Week. Events none of us saw a single frame of footage from, by the way. And not only did you not get close to Seedance 2.5, you regressed below Kling 3.0. With the exception of movement. How? We waited in the rain for a hero. Who would have thought the hero would lose his way.
