OpenAI has a serious usage problem. Astra is a great model but is too expensive. Opus 5.5 and Claude are now showering the industry in discounted usage. The OpenAI team has been surprisingly quiet all week while anthropics is running away with the market. OpenAI needs to make a serious announcement on dev day or risk alienating the average vibe coder.
