how to save $2,000 per year? OpenAI, Meta, xAI, Manus and Anthropic all charge for their AI agents one open-source repo is going after 7 of them at once, and it already has 5.7K stars and 691 forks it's called Open Dots. its first line of code landed on Sep 29, the same day OpenAI launched Dots. if you've ever wanted to text your coding agent from your phone and come back to finished work, this is that. what you get today: ⟶ Claude Code over Telegram. send the bot a plain message like "build a landing page" and it runs the task in a fresh sandbox, then replies with the result. ⟶ a web app for the same thing. a prompt box, your task history, and replies that continue the same Claude conversation. guest mode works without Telegram. ⟶ nothing risky runs without you. file writes, shell commands and git pushes stop and wait for you to pick allow once, always allow, or deny. no answer within 110 seconds counts as deny. ⟶ it knows a commit from a push. a small classifier sorts git commands into read, commit and push, so "always allow commits" never quietly allows pushes to your repo. ⟶ it pushes as you. you link GitHub with a one-time device code, and no token is ever pasted into the chat. pushes show up under your own name. ⟶ jobs on a schedule. "/schedule daily 08:00 generate my report" and the result lands in Telegram every morning. a job that fails 3 times in a row pauses itself. ⟶ your keys stay locked. credentials are encrypted at rest, and every task, rule and schedule lives in your own Postgres. ⟶ free web search if you want it. one setting gives Claude search and page fetching through Parallel, with no extra account or API key. ⟶ one command to boot it. ./scripts/dev.sh starts Postgres, the API, the bot and the web UI together. the big companies rent you an agent inside their own app. this one runs on your server, on your Claude login, and every approval goes through you. i go through GitHub every week so you don't have to. stay tuned to catch the next one early, and show this to the friend who keeps asking which AI agent is worth paying for. honest question: would you hand your agent the keys over Telegram, or does a chat app feel too casual for "git push"?
