$GOOGL 's AI demand is outrunning its compute. Sundar Pichai says Google Cloud is "forgoing short-term revenues" to keep DeepMind fully supplied. He says fitting in new customers who want capacity in 2027 would be "incredibly difficult," and that "everyone wishes you had 2x of what you had planned for." Pichai says Gemini 4 Argon processed nearly 25T tokens in its first 72 hours, roughly 3x Gemini 3. Cloud revenue rose 82% to $24.8B in Q2, with a backlog of nearly $514B. Capex is guided to $195–205B, and Google is reportedly paying SpaceX $920M a month for compute, starting this month. Pichai says today's compute reflects decisions he made in 2024. The builders who planned big are the ones getting paid.
