OpenBot v0.28.0 and v0.29.0 are out 🚀 These two releases bring new integrations, self-hosted servers, better agent workflows, and major improvements across the app. Slack and team workflows - Agents can now answer directly in Slack. - Mention @OpenBot in a public channel or send it a direct message. - Private channels can be connected with /invite @OpenBot. - The new Slack Orchestrator routes requests to the right agent and responds in the same thread. - Agents can include files and ask for approval directly in Slack. - Reply “stop” to cancel a running request. New providers and integrations - Cline is now available as a provider. - Connect Cline with your account or a CLINE_API_KEY. - Cline agents run locally on your computer and remain private to that device. - GitHub and Slack are now easier to manage from Server Settings → Connectors. - You can run your own account service, Signal service, and TURN server for remote access. Self-hosted OpenBot servers - Install OpenBot on a headless Linux computer or VPS directly from the terminal. - Use the same server from the desktop app, iPhone app, or http://openbot.run/app. - Manage the server from the openbot command: check its status, view logs, rename it, update it, or uninstall it. - Supported systems include Debian 12, Debian 13, and Ubuntu 26.04. Routines and agent control - A new Schedule view shows routines for all agents and channels in a day or week calendar. - Run an agent routine from a local script and pass it a custom payload. - Restart individual providers without interrupting agents from other providers. - Restart OpenBot when no agent is working, with queued routines running afterwards. - Hosted servers now go to sleep sooner when they are idle and wake up when needed. More feedback and customization - Added optional sound feedback for buttons, menus, agent changes, approvals, errors, and completed actions. - Choose between Warm, Mechanical, Bubbly, and Clicky sounds, or turn them off. - Brazilian Portuguese is now available in the desktop app and web client. - More of the app is now translated into Turkish. - Improved Dynamic Island animations, sizing, previews, and idle greetings. Compare OpenBot with other tools - Added OpenBot comparisons with ChatGPT, Cursor CLI, hosted OpenBot servers, Claude Cowork, and Manus. - Comparison pages now show where each product is available and which languages it supports. - OpenBot has no region lock. - Added a Compare section to the http://openbot.run navigation. Diagnostics and reliability - Provider diagnostics are now written to a local providers.log file without credentials, prompts, tool output, or conversation text. - Provider settings show the latest error and include a Copy diagnostics action. - Clearer explanations when a selected model is unavailable. - Improved provider downloads, updates, model discovery, and recovery after temporary failures. - Better file links for edited, moved, deleted, and external files. - Improved mobile reconnections and web connectivity after short network changes. - Fixed Windows CLI startup issues, CJK input confirmation, OpenCode model recovery, notification stacking, and empty agent messages.
