The plot doesn’t do justice to how this year has felt as a 90th percentile user of agents for my research Last year I hardly used AI, minimal codex use, no tab complete, no cursor. Occasionally I’d copy paste a file into chatgpt asking it to find bugs Then 5.2 hit in December, i assumed it was a meh incremental capability jump, so didn’t really try it for the first few weeks but when i did i was blown away. It felt like that first time you use chatgpt Around February I realized the fastest way to get anything done was to both ask codex to do it, and also in parallel do it myself, racing codex to see who could go faster. Sometimes I’d win, sometimes I’d lose Now it’s September and i often go days w/o reading code. My laptop fan is almost always at full speed from the agents plugging away at their tasks i don’t even try to debug stuff anymore, i just tell Astra “plz fix”
