In just the last 1 year: Gemini 1.5 — solid, forgettable. "Google is behind and it shows." Gemini 2.5 — surprising jump. "Maybe they're catching up. But never frontier." Gemini 3 Pro — frontier, 1M context, Antigravity launches same day. "Still not the default choice." Gemini 3.1 / 3.5 / 3.6 / 3.8 — monthly-cadence releases, Deep Think, cheaper Flash tiers stacking up. "Fine, but where's the leap?" Gemini 4 Pro — coming next week. 👀 And honestly, I have no idea how good Gemini 4 Pro will be. But if Google has actually been holding back some of its best stuff, next week could be very interesting. The AI race moves way too fast.
