SONNET 5.5 + JEV + OPENAI DOTS made one agent 10x faster and 90% cheaper with three changes... one task took 60 seconds and cost $0.30. now it takes 6 seconds and costs $0.03 swap → trim → cap → fan out the agent itself runs on Sonnet 5.5, and it has ten tools to call: email, calendar, CRM, tickets, search, docs, billing, sheets, maps and code ten calls in a row at 6 seconds each is a full minute. Jev sends all ten out together, and the minute becomes 6 seconds the first cut to the bill is the model. moving from Opus to Sonnet 5.5 takes $0.30 down to $0.18 the second cut is the context. 40,000 tokens arrive with every task, and OpenAI Dots hands over only the 6,000 the task needs. that's $0.078 the third cut is the answer. Jev stops it at 800 tokens where it used to run to 4,000, and the task lands at $0.030 at 1,000 tasks a day that's $300 down to $30, and $9,000 a month down to $900 10x only works when the ten steps don't wait for each other. with five of them chained it's 36 seconds, so 1.7x. if every step needs the last one, it's still 60 the 90% is measured against Opus carrying 40k of context. a setup that starts lean saves less and the trim wasn't free. evals went from 226 to 218 out of 240 three changes, 6 seconds, $0.03 a task, and 8 eval cases you have to go and look at ↓
