I’m starting to suspect GPT-6 Sol is so much cheaper than GPT-5.6 Sol because it’s basically a dumber version of 5.6. I’m a very active OpenAI user, and I genuinely think they missed the mark with this launch. It feels rushed. BUT despite the model’s weak performance, the one thing that makes me willing to give them the benefit of the doubt is the price.
