MetaMask launched an agent wallet that can trade on your behalf. That moves the conversation from can agents trade to how much authority they should carry when they do. A wallet can follow an instruction, take a setup, rebalance, pay for a service or send an order while you are away. But in each case, the output is only as good as the boundaries around the agent. Size can creep. A strategy built for one asset can bleed into another. A short-term task can keep operating after the reason for it has passed. Bursar lives in that second part. A mandate lets you set the allocation, the per-period limit, the assets it can touch, who it can pay and the expiry. It can be funded in tokenized treasuries until a permitted trade or payment needs it. The agent gets room to work, but it does not get an open tab on the entire wallet. When an action reaches settlement, the rules are checked there. The limit is part of whether the trade can clear, not a notification you find later. If it fits, it goes through. If it does not, it stops. The agent can trade approved tokenized stocks, buy services or hire another agent, while the mandate keeps the activity tied to the job you actually gave it. And the strategy does not need to become public just because the agent has moved onchain. The provider sees a valid payment proof, not your full balance or every decision leading up to it. Agent wallets are a big step. The layer around them decides whether they become useful financial tools or just faster ways to make bad decisions.
