OPUS 5.5 CAN BUILD A $35,000 SITE FOR A DIGITAL FASHION BRAND, AND IT SHOWS THE CHARACTER THE WAY A MUSEUM SHOWS A WHITE MARBLE STATUE. I did not expect much from one more site with a 3D character on it. I changed my mind when I saw that the whole thing was white, because I had never seen anyone do it like that before.. I always made my own 3D sites dark and loud, and I am starting to think I had it wrong the whole time. "ALMOST EVERYTHING IS WHITE" I think the white is the bravest decision on this site, because the character almost melts into the background and I could only see his shape through light and shadow. the only colour I found on the whole page was a little yellow on the sunglasses, the chain and the sneakers, and I realised those are exactly the things the brand wants me to look at. I would never have dared to take the colour away from a fashion site, and now I am sure it is the reason this one feels so premium to me.. "THE CAMERA TRAVELS FROM HEAD TO TOE" what I enjoyed most was the scroll, because it starts close to the face and slowly moves down past the chain, the jersey and the shorts until it reaches the sneakers. it reminded me of the way I look at someone's outfit in real life, and I think that is a very clever way to sell clothes. when I open a normal fashion site I get a grid of products, and I honestly cannot remember a single item from any of them. "THE BRAND SPEAKS ITS OWN LANGUAGE" I really like how short and confident the text is, with lines like street fashion, your style and run the hapewalk. I smiled when I saw that the brand had invented its own words... a runway is called a hapewalk here and an influencer is called a hapefluencer. I always tried to write copy that everyone would understand, and this site reminded me that a bit of inside language makes people want to join the club. "THERE IS ALMOST NOTHING TO CLICK" I counted what is actually on the screen: a small logo, a tiny menu at the bottom and one button for the roadmap. for me that is the hardest thing to do as a designer, because it means leaving the screen empty and trusting that one character is enough to hold attention.. I think it works here because nothing fights with him, and I ended up studying every detail of what he was wearing. Full guide in article below
