Kling 4.0 hands-on tests and comparisons

A user notes Kling 4.0 is on sale at possibly less than half the price of Seedance 2.5 and recommends it for live-action-style work, rating it above H3.

A creator makes a 15-second continuous first-person tactical shooter clip with Kling 4.0 on Ima Studio, praising motion consistency and scene control, with the prompt included.

The author drives Kling 4.0 from Codex over MCP on a phone, noting that an official MCP server can spend subscription credits instead of requiring API wallet top-ups.

A same-prompt 720p comparison finds Kling has richer color and deeper blacks, while Seedance followed the shot breakdown, duration and motion instructions more faithfully.

A Japanese user tests Kling 4.0 with a character holding a UZI and finds image quality much better with noticeably fewer breakdowns.

A user ran Kling 4.0 and MiniMax H3 on the same prompt, finding Kling stronger on motion while H3 had better transitions in a close race.

A user notes Kling 4.0 is fully rolled out with up to 30-second clips, while 4K HDR output and the developer API are still pending, and questions whether a character's face and clothes stay consistent across a turn-and-return shot.

User reports a 30-second clip generated in one text-to-video pass, MCP/CLI support for Codex and Claude Code, and pricing under a third of Seedance 2.5.

A write-up of Kling's official blog: Kling 4.0 is fully open with 3–30s clips, up to 10 keyframes, 15 reference assets, 8000-token prompts, optional 4K, plus web, MCP and CLI access paths.

Third-party platform Deevid AI announces Kling 4.0 is coming soon, touting up to 30s clips, smoother motion, more lifelike detail and more accurate lip sync, without a date.

HitPaw calls Kling 4.0 a serious Seedance 2.5 rival but notes it has no 4K output yet, recommending low-res generation plus VikPea upscaling to cut cost.

Kling 4.0 launched generally on October 15 with MCP and CLI access from day one, while the developer API remains 'coming soon'; MCP/CLI use only personal paid credits, excluding bonus and team credits.
