Same prompt, two models: Opus 5.5 vs Haiku 5.5 on a three.js sunset scene
Given one prompt to build a Golden Gate Bridge sunset animation in three.js from an empty folder, Opus 5.5 took 16 minutes and $3.04 while Haiku 5.5 was 3x faster but produced noticeably rougher detail.
HAIKU 5.5 DROPPED LAST NIGHT. I GAVE IT AND OPUS 5.5 THE SAME PROMPT one prompt: golden gate bridge at sunset in three.js, from an empty folder opus 5.5 -> 16 min, 99,578 output tokens, $3.04 haiku 5.5 -> 5.5 min, 70,159 output tokens, $2.19 the cheap model cost 72% of the opus bill haiku is 3x faster. on money the gap is 28% opus put a container ship, a sailboat and the towers' reflections on the water. haiku drew a big sun, a skyline and flat black water top is opus, bottom is haiku price per token is on the pricing page. price per task you only see after the run
