Report claims GPT-6 family includes Sol, Terra and Luna
A post separates GPT-6 as the model family from Astra as its flagship, says OpenAI is reportedly working on GPT-6 Sol, Terra and Luna as tiered models, and relays alleged early Sol test results from zai Discord circles.

I think people are mixing up GPT-6 and Astra. GPT 6 is the model family. Astra is the flagship model in that family. It doesn't mean GPT 6 = Astra and nothing else exists. There are now reports of OpenAI working on GPT 6 Sol, Terra and Luna as well. If that naming carries over the idea would be pretty straightforward, Astra for the hardest work then cheaper/faster models for everyday use. And that would actually make sense. Astra is expensive and extremely capable. You probably don't want to use that level of compute for every little question. The interesting part is that we are already seeing alleged GPT 6 Sol results from the same zai discord circles that surfaced some surprisingly accurate Astra information before launch. I can't independently verify the model name so take these as early tests, not confirmation. From the two examples I'm seeing, Sol looks pretty good but also noticeably less impressive than Astra. That's not necessarily a bad thing. If Sol is much faster and cheaper while keeping most of the capability that could end up being the GPT 6 model people use all day. We’re still very early here. The model name itself isn't confirmed, and these are just tests from the zai discord. But if Sol, Terra and Luna are actually coming, GPT 6 is going to be a much bigger lineup than Astra alone.
