Leaker: GPT-6 is already obsolete and OpenAI has a stronger finished model
A leaker says GPT-6, Sol, Terra and Luna are already outdated internally and that OpenAI holds a near-finished, far stronger model that could put it two generations ahead of rivals.
Interesting to me how much people care about GPT-6, Sol, Terra, and Luna when we know internally that GPT-6 is already fully obsolete today. Maybe this comes as news to some, but OpenAI already has something far, far better that is essentially a finished product. Sam has alluded to this before in Axios, saying that it would come, The employee chatter I’m hearing is elucidating a very different situation. Whatever comes next is already essentially complete, and this is not being described as some small incremental jump. - I don’t know if we’ll see that Dev day. I think this is still slated for the fall/winter, but if it’s already completed, I think OpenAI is now in a position where they might be two models ahead of other competitors outside Anthropic.
