OpenAI says GPT-6 Sol and Luna bring advances from GPT-6 Astra to faster, more affordable models built for work at scale, with major improvements in writing and overall quality. API pricing is cut in half: Sol drops to $2/$10 and Luna to $0.10/$0.50 per million input/output tokens, while benchmark intelligence and coding scores remain broadly in line with GPT-5.6. OpenAI is also adding a “banked reset” to Plus, Pro and Business accounts, allowing users to carry unused usage capacity forward.
