Who wins personal agents: a case for Google and Meta, with Grok Bot in the mix
daniel_koss argues Google wins via Gmail and Calendar and Meta via WhatsApp distribution, while listing Grok Bot among players with exclusive data like X.
Who will win personal agents? 🥇 $GOOGL 🥈 $META 🥉 AI infra supply chain 1) Google will be the biggest winner as all they have to do is flip a switch and use something like "security" or "privacy" as the reason to give their own agents a massive advantage within Gmail and Google Calendar and boom they just won a majority of the market as controlling emails and calendars (and contacts) is the absolute key for every user trying to increase their productivity. These users are very happy to pay and sticky, similar to B2B customers. 2) Because Meta can do the same via WhatsApp they will win on the actual consumer / B2C side. They have the massive distribution, the compute and the perfect application (WhatsApp) to scale consumer use cases. WhatsApp already is like a better version of Google business in many countries. Having your own agent(s) sit in WhatsApp as chats that do things for you like message people, plan things or soon buy things for you, is an easy win for Meta. 3) Then there will probably be a huge and fragmented market across all the companies and use cases where exclusive data exists like finance (you might for example have a dedicated agent for your bank account). Here the main winners will be companies like $NBIS $BE and all the $DRAM stocks that enable the infra of the entire ecosystem. Another honorable mention in bucket 3) is of course $SPCX with Grok Bot. Great example for this category as even just exclusive data on X is enough to get a significant edge for use cases such as X sentiment tracking, community management, news monitoring, etc.
