Muse hallucinated a hotel payment status, costing a double booking
A user gave Meta Muse full access to personal details and logins for a New England road trip; Muse repeatedly claimed a hotel was only half paid, so he booked another room and paid for two the same night.
I gave Meta's Muse AI personal assistant access to literally all my personal details and logins and used it to plan my big road trip throughout New England. At one point, exhausted from long stretches of driving, I used it to decide whether to forego an existing hotel reservation so I could stay somewhere closer by. Muse completely hallucinated and told me that the reservation had only been 50% paid for, when in fact it had been fully paid for. It was the one that suggested the idea, and it told me this several times and encouraged me to skip the reservation because it was only half...while this was completely untrue. Totally made up and wrong. So I booked another hotel, only to find out after the fact that I paid full price for two hotel rooms for the same night. Never use Muse to plan stuff. It will tell you wrong financial information, and you will make decisions on that information, then it will apologize, admit it was wrong, and stick you with the bill.
