Anthropic quietly upgrades Opus via routing, seen as bid to upstage GPT-6 Sol
The poster says Anthropic has been rolling out Opus 5.1, 5.2 and 5.5 to users in stages via routing since Claude Fable 5, aiming to make people forget ChatGPT and keep GPT-6 Sol out of the spotlight.
I’ve never seen Anthropic do this before. Since Claude Fable 5, Anthropic has started releasing models as routes, and they clearly know what’s happening and that everyone will eventually find out. It feels like Anthropic is trying as hard as possible to make itself look like the best. First, they started routing some users to Opus 5.1. Then they moved them to Opus 5.2. And now to Opus 5.5. same with fable. They’re even knows that several people are monitoring what’s happening and can see what’s going on behind the scenes. Honestly, this is good marketing, and it seems to be working. Anthropic wants to make people forget what ChatGPT is by any means possible, while keeping GPT-6 SOL out of the spotlight
