Anthropic may ship Sonnet 5.5 just before OpenAI DevDay
The author predicts Anthropic will release Sonnet and Haiku 5.5 right before OpenAI DevDay, noting Opus 5.5 shipped just ahead of GPT-6 Sol.
OpenAI DevDay is next Tuesday, and Tibo says they have a lot of big things coming. But I'm pretty sure Anthropic will drop Claude Sonnet 5.5 and Haiku 5.5 right before it, maybe with higher usage limits and even a surprise like Fable 5.2. They already said Sonnet and Haiku are coming soon, and Tuesday would be the perfect day. They keep doing this. Every time OpenAI gets ready for a big moment, Anthropic releases something first and all the attention goes to Claude. Fable 5.1 came out just before GPT 6 Astra. Opus 5.5 came out right before GPT 6 Sol. Both times, people mostly talked about Claude. If Tuesday goes the same way, OpenAI's biggest DevDay ever will just be the second headline, so maybe this time they should stop waiting for their big day and ship first for once.
