Codex users wait for DevDay as GPT-6 Sol still feels weak, post says
An opinion post says many Codex users moved to Claude over Opus 5.5 but haven't fully left, waiting for Tuesday's DevDay to see if GPT-6 Sol can win them back.
Anthropic can't afford to nerf Opus 5.5 right now, and they know it. A lot of Codex users moved to Claude after Opus 5.5 came out, but most of them haven't fully let go of Codex yet. They're waiting to see what OpenAI brings at DevDay on Tuesday, because GPT 6 Sol still feels weak and they want a reason to stay. If Opus 5.5 gets worse now, all those new Claude users will go straight back to Codex. But if Opus stays this good, even a great DevDay might not be enough to make them go back. OpenAI needs a miracle on Tuesday, while Anthropic just has to sit back and watch them struggle again.
